Ruiz CapitalWorks is seeking an experienced Senior Investment Accountant to join its team in Tucson, Arizona. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling all fundamental aspects of securities investment accounting, account reconciliation, operations, and financial statement reporting. The ideal candidate will have practical investment accounting experience, strong attention to detail, and superior follow up – follow through skills. The candidate must also have excellent organizational, communication, and decision-making skills and be a team player.

The candidate must:
  • Perform daily and monthly accounting activities related to securities investment assets including securities custodian to investment management account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, general ledger, and all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Interact and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including company leadership, investment advisors, and accounting team to ensure 100% accuracy of all financial reporting  
  • Be a resource to the accounting function by assisting with implementing, and training on new software platform; assist with ongoing development of best-in-class accounting procedures
  • Perform other administrative duties as needed  
  • Display a positive, helpful attitude to help create a friendly environment for business partners and co-workers


The candidate will:
  • Have a minimum of 5 to 7 years progressively responsible accounting experience with a minimum of 3 years of securities investment firm back-office accounting experience
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA strongly preferred  
  • Demonstrate superior knowledge of and practical experience with US generally accepted accounting principles as they pertain to investment companies
  • Have strong attention to detail, organization, multi-tasking, and follow up skills  
  • Be a results-oriented, strategic problem solver with strong decision-making skills
  • Demonstrate superior interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills  
  • Have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Be self-motivated and self-directed with a strong company focus  
  • Be a dedicated, conscientious worker with a positive, “can do, will do” attitude
  • Thrive in a team environment and be a positive team player  
  • Have computer proficiency with working knowledge of Sage Intacct accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

Salary – $75,000 - $80,000 DOE
