SUMMARY
 
As a “caretaker” of our brand’s legacy, the Senior Graphic Designer leads/manages all design projects including packaging, trade shows, collateral and digital media.  In this role, the Senior Graphic Designer supports and collaborates with Sales, Custom Printing, New Product Development and Production.  While leading a team, the Senior Graphic Designer will be the knowledge expert for designing, building and maintaining the company’s brand. 

WORK ACTIVITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:                        
  • Brand Design
    • Maintain the visual representation of the brand in all aspects of design, typography, composition, and color
    • Create all product packaging design for current and new products
    • Provide static an animated designs for websites, social media, marketing campaigns, and online promotions
    • Lead the development of flyers, postcards, signage, price sheets, print and web-based catalogues
    • Responsible for concepts, design, development, execution and analysis of email campaigns
    • Design draw, sketch or modify graphic assets for marketing campaigns - key visuals, landing pages, digital ads, social media, email campaigns, outdoor, print, influencer content, and customer presentation decks
    • Partner with the New Products Development team to create and implement new product packaging, labeling and content
    • Conceptualize, design, and produce graphics, fixtures, product samples, and miscellaneous marketing needs for tradeshows
    • Support video productions with Digital Content Creator
    • Design promotional materials, activities and exhibits for all trade shows
    • Lead the creative process with the marketing team and effectively execute within a variety of consumer channels
    • Monitor industry designs, production techniques and marketing trends to ensure that designs are in line with current trends while keeping true to brand
    • Work with internal teams to ensure that a creative theme is consistent throughout all new product development
  • Project Management
    • Develop and oversee the creative direction of the organization’s design, and/or marketing projects and initiatives
    • Assist with the annual marketing calendar using data and knowledge to develop tactics and strategy 
    • Manage product data including ISBNs, UPCs and NSNs (National Stocking Numbers)
    • Balance multiple product streams, prioritize, and work well under pressure in a fast-moving environment
    • Develop budgets and approve expenditures to ensure the effective and efficient use of materials, labor or equipment
  • Team Leadership
    • Mentor and supervise Marketing team members by creating an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture
    • Provide leadership to Marketing team through effective objective setting, delegation and communication
    • Direct the hiring, training and performance evaluations of Marketing team and oversee their daily activities
    • Responsible for providing regular status updates, issues, concerns to the Sr. VP of Sales and Marketing
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required Qualifications                                                
    • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • 7+ years related experience and/or training in print (Adobe Suite CS5) and website design (HTML, CSS, FLASH), while working both independently and as part of a creative team
    • 3+ years in design development and execution within Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry
    • 3+ years leading and managing a team
    • 3+ years of experience with social media and influencer content
    • Proven track record of managing projects from concept to completion
    • Experience working with and negotiating with third party software, data and system providers
    • Proven expertise in internet and digital imaging design software, internet research and mining software, project management software, database applications, MS Word and MS Excel.
    • Proven software expertise in internet and digital imaging design, internet research and mining, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Bridge, Dreamweaver, etc.), project management, databases and MS Office / Excel
    • Must be able to provide concrete examples of a portfolio of project-based creative work for retail and digital media 
    • A current and valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and the ability to travel 10% of the time

WORK ENVIRONMENT
 
This work environment for this role is hybrid between in-office and at-home and will be balanced based on project demands and team management responsibilities. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This position has an estimated annual salary range of $80,000 - $115,000. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
