WORK ACTIVITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:                                                                                           
  • Receiving
  1. Receive materials and product into the company
  2. Move or expedite material to proper department or places in temporary storage
  3. Operate a fork lift, hoist, floor jack or power truck for unloading, moving or storing materials as required
  4. Fill shipping pick and pack shelves
  • Shipping
  1. Utilize an RF device to assemble specified number of products for each addressee as indicated by order instructions
  2. Wrap, tie or place materials in envelopes, boxes or other containers
  3. Confirm addresses in shipping software and then affix shipping labels with addresses onto packaged materials
  4. Double check outgoing product ensure the PO and folding dummies or samples is enclosed
  5. Operate a fork lift, hoist, floor jack or power truck for loading or moving materials as required
  6. Place package on appropriate pallet for the shipping company selected
  7. Strap down small pallets going out of company
  • Job Completion
  1. Notify supervisor of malfunctions or issues with materials, supplies or products
  2. Complete tracking logs and shipping reports -- ensuring that the correct person receives the relevant paper work
  3. Communicate with other staff, leads and supervisors regarding tasks completed and problems
  • Maintenance and Safety
  1. Strictly follow the established rules for safety while using the various machinery, tools and supplies
  2. Organize, maintain and clean the work area, machinery, tools and supplies
  3. Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on machinery and tools
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS 
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
 
  • Required Qualifications                                                                                                                                                 
  1. High School diploma or an equivalent
  2. Two years of relevant experience and training with the proven manual dexterity and aptitude to operate shipping tools, computers and equipment  
  3. One year of warehouse experience in receiving and picking orders for shipping
  4. Demonstrated ability in basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills
  5. Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
  • Preferred Qualifications                                                                                                                                             
  1. Language Skills: Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Proven ability to write simple correspondence.
  2. Mathematical Skills: Documented ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
  3. Reasoning Ability: Proven ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written and oral instructions.
  4. Computer Skills: Demonstrated ability in communication tools and computer software used in a warehouse environment.
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS 
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. They must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. The continuous handling, gripping, grasping of paper, print items, boxes is required.
