Overview
Compost Crew, a locally owned business based in Rockville, MD, is a high growth organics recycling company. The business eliminates food waste and revitalizes soil health through convenient and affordable composting services.  We now serve thousands of homes, businesses, communities and governments throughout Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia, and compost tens of millions of pounds of food waste per year.

Compost Crew is seeking experienced, professional Roll-off drivers with excellent driving skills and a detail-oriented, customer service approach to their work. This is not an entry-level position, and applicants must have an active CDL Class B license with Air Brake Endorsement.

The Roll-off Driver will be responsible for driving the company vehicles in a safe and courteous manner while maintaining the quality of service our customers expect and ensuring each customer is served safely, efficiently, and effectively.  As a Driver for Compost Crew, you are a representative of the company and our mission for a more sustainable world.

This position is a physically active position in which you will be driving, exiting, and entering the vehicle throughout the day, and lifting weights up to 60 lbs.

Start time is between 3 am and 5 am and shifts are over when all customers on the route have been serviced.  Two-month trial period is included as part of the training process. Benefits available after the trial period.
 

Responsibilities
  • Operate company vehicles safely
  • Inspect and maintain company vehicles and equipment
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Complete all routes as assigned
  • Work independently and with a team 

Key Requirements
  • An excellent driver with at least two years of Roll-off driving experience (CDL Class A, B required)
  • Experience operating trash or recycle trucks a plus
  • Must have a clean/good driving record
  • Active DOT medical card 
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • In good physical condition: able to lift 50+ pounds and be able to run/walk for much of the day
  • Able to work in all weather conditions and get your hands dirty - collecting organics
  • Must have a personal vehicle for commute
