Position Purpose:
Assist golf management in all aspects of the golf operation of Thornberry Creek at Oneida.
Essential Functions:
- Completes all transactions on the point of sale (POS) system and handles all forms of payments in accordance with the cash handling procedures.
- Communicates verbally as well as in writing to customers on a daily basis to satisfy guest questions to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Meet and greet guests as they arrive.
- Takes tee times via phone and in person throughout the day and keeps tee sheet up to date and accurate.
- Receive and record necessary arrangements for reservations and special functions for the Golf Course
- Help to facilitate:
- Tee Sheet operation
- Golf outing preparations
- Golf league check ins
- Calculation of league results
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Strong customer service skills and personality
- Basic knowledge of golf product use, functionality, and quality, as well as apparel
- Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes as relating to pricing.
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language sufficient to communicate with guests.
- Ability to effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions. Ability to operate a keyboard and Point of Sale procedures to handle cashier functions.
- Knowledge of the golf game and golf etiquette are necessary.
- Strong customer service skills and personality
- Knowledge and understanding of the rules of play and etiquette of golf is required.
- Basic knowledge of golf product use, functionality, and quality, as well as apparel
- No prior golf course experience is required but 1-2 years of previous golf course employment is preferred.
- Must be 18 years old and able to obtain a bartender’s licenses within 30 days of employment and maintain such licensure.
- A current valid driver's license is required.
