Position Title: 
Quality Systems Manager        

Reports To:  C.E.O.

Summary of Duties:
  • The Quality Systems Manager (QSM) is responsible to drive the implementation of quality system upgrades and help maintain quality management system initiatives necessary to support current and future third party registrations, such as ISO 9001, API-Q1, and agreed customer requirements.
  • Functions as the Management Representative for third party registrations/audits.
  • QM will manage the overall activity/functions of the Business Management System and Quality department personnel.
  • Function effectively as a member of the management team.

Education/Training/Experience:
  • Must have 15+ years of progressive quality management experience, the background and knowledge to support the previous Summary of Duties plus a 4 year degree or professional certification(s) in a quality discipline.

Physical Requirements:
  • Infrequently handles and lifts material ranging from 5 to 15 pounds.  Any loads over 25 pounds, (or more than you can safely handle) MUST be done with the help of another employee or with mechanical assistance.
  • Requires standing, walking, and sitting most of the time, plus frequent bending and reaching.  Frequent use of both hands/arms, working together to accurately and repetitively use computers, printers, etc.  Precise dexterity needed with both hands to make fine adjustments to keyboard technique to achieve accurate and reliable results and to legibly complete quality records, reports, etc. Occasional stooping or climbing stairs is required.

Job Skills/Tools Required:
Examples of skills & experience may include but are not limited to:
  • 10 Years previous experience as a quality systems manager and/or quality engineer.
  • The development and implementation of a documented Quality Management System to meet industry product standards and/or International Specifications /Quality Management system standards such as ISO and API standards.
  • Knowledge of Inspection techniques needed to support product quality.
  • Knowledge/experience in the calibration of measuring instruments.
  • Experience working with suppliers to drive corrective action and improvement.
  • Control and disposition of nonconforming material
  • Experience working with customers to ensure agreed QMS contract requirements are met.
  • Strong quality auditing skills/experience.
  • Skilled in quality problem investigation/problem solving.
  • Strong communication skills.

  • Accomplishes assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Works to ensure customer and company requirements are met.
  • Follows company guidelines, systems and procedures.
  • Dedicated to continual improvement of BMS processes and Quality department personnel.
