Advanced Interior and Development Specialist

Position Summary 

With limited supervision, the Advanced Interior and Development Specialist works in conjunction with the Design and Interior teams to develop and create new concepts in interiors and assist with Special wishes and After Sales interiors. This expert craftsman will carry out intricate stitch work on a variety of specialized sewing and trim tasks, operating an industrial sewing machine to stitch a variety of materials including leather, vinyl, and cloth according to design and build specifications and process manuals in a manner that demonstrates, “Everything is Important.”

Essential Functions 

  • Develops new Concepts, including seat design, development, cutting and sewing, and sewing first off samples and complete design interiors for production intent 
  • Works with interior teams to design and develop custom interiors  
  • Template design, development, and refinement 
  • Creates finalized templates for interior work 
  • Assists in special projects and set up of fixtures as required 
  • Sews and stitches all leather interiors, carpets, headlining, and leather luggage according to the build specification 
  • Assists other team members as necessary 
  • Performs other duties as assigned 
 

Qualifications
Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • A minimum of six (6) years of experience sewing high-quality leather interiors and trim for Automotive, Aerospace, and/or Marine applications 
  • Advanced knowledge of leather work 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification and/or technical automotive program graduate 
  • Prior experience in aerospace or automotive manufacturing 
  • Prior experience in rapid growth environment 
  • Previous trim or upholstery experience

Compensation
The starting pay range for this position is between $111,600 - 139,500 annually. Actual compensation will be determined by skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
