POSITION: Housekeeping Supervisor DEPARTMENT: Housekeeping
REPORTS TO: Director of Housekeeping
Job Summary: The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily housekeeping operations to ensure cleanliness, organization, and overall guest satisfaction. This role supervises Room Attendants, Housemen, and Public Area Attendants, ensuring all guest rooms and public areas meet the property’s standards and brand expectations.
Job Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of housekeeping staff, including Room Attendants, Housemen, and Laundry Attendants
- Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas to ensure cleanliness standards are consistently met
- Assign daily work schedules and room assignments based on occupancy levels and operational needs
- Train, coach, and support housekeeping team members to maintain high performance and service standards
- Ensure all cleaning procedures and safety protocols are followed
- Monitor and maintain housekeeping supplies, linens, and equipment inventory
- Report maintenance issues promptly and follow up to ensure resolution
- Handle guest requests and complaints in a professional and timely manner
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and quality standards
- Assist with deep cleaning schedules and special projects
- Maintain accurate records, including inspection logs, lost & found, and staff attendance
- High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality certification preferred
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in housekeeping, preferably in a supervisory role
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills (bilingual English/Spanish preferred)
- Basic computer skills (scheduling systems, reporting tools)
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25–30 lbs
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays
