Position Summary
Gianni’s is seeking an experienced and service-driven Captain / Sommelier to lead front-of-house operations while supporting an elevated wine program. This role ensures exceptional guest experiences through strong leadership, seamless service execution, and expert wine knowledge.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support front-of-house team to maintain high service and hospitality standards
  • Provide attentive, personalized guest service and handle concerns with professionalism
  • Coordinate with kitchen, bar, and management to ensure smooth service flow
  • Execute and support wine and sake service, including proper presentation and timing
  • Maintain organization and stock of wine cellar, sommelier stations, and service areas
  • Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering, and communicate low or 86’d items
  • Oversee liquor and wine inventory management, including monthly inventory counts and weekly ordering
  • Train and guide staff on menu knowledge, wine pairings, and service standards
  • Ensure dining room cleanliness, setup, and adherence to grooming standards
Qualifications
  • Previous Captain or supervisory experience in fine dining
  • Strong knowledge of wine, sake, and food pairings
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and guest service skills
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-standard environment
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
