  • Maintains positive guest relations at all times; anticipates guests’ needs, responds promptly;, and works in conjunction with all Front Office staff to deliver consistent and sought after guest experiences that meet the style of The Setai
  • Serves as the senior Front Desk Agent on duty
  • Mentors and supervises other Front Desk Agents
  • Prepares arrival folders for guests
  • Greets all guests cordially using their name
  • Handles guest check-in and check-out in accordance with hotel policies and SOPs
  • Serves welcome drinks and oshiburi towels at checkin
  • Escorts guests to their rooms, explains the room features, answers any questions
  • Assists guests with any needs, coordinates with the proper departments to meet those needs
  • Reviews guest logs frequently, remains aware of all VIPs and other specially noted guests for both arrivals and in house needs
  • Performs daily audits of each reservation
  • Reviews daily Housekeeping reports and addresses issues as per guidelines
  • Resolves and addresses guest concerns and issues proactively and with grace and diplomacy; and assists others to do the same
  • Maintains familiarity with all aspects of the hotel as well as local directions so as to assist guests
  • Continually monitors all front of the house venues; ensures all areas are clean and tidy; promptly reports any maintenance issues
  • Ensures Business Center area is clean and functional; promptly reports any maintenance issues
  • Promptly informs Housekeeping, In Room Dining and PBX of any guest room changes
  • Ensures that billing is accurate for all guests
  • Maintains cash bank when supplied and provides cash services to guests
  • Completes shift checklist

Must have a high school degree; AND at least three (3) years of Front Desk experience in a luxury hotel, or four (4) years experience in an independent or boutique hotel; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Knowledge of  hospitality principles and procedures
  • Knowledge of front desk protocol and experience working with high profile guests with discriminating expectations
  • Reputation for handling situations and confidential information discretely, projecting a positive, professional and supportive outward image and exercising good judgment for the position
  • Good computing skills demonstrating proficiency with property management systems, point of sale systems, and Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to review information in a factual and neutral manner, analyze data and prepare reports and documents in a timely manner
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Able to command the respect of other Front Desk Agents
