DCN Diagnostics has an opening for a Full-Time Controller to join its Finance and Accounting team.

As Controller you will lead and oversee the day-to-day management of all aspects of accounting operations including policies and procedures. Manage finance and accounting resources to develop, update and provide information about all company financial activities. Utilize best-practices methods and reporting to lead or participate in discussions that will assist management, its shareholders and other users in understanding multiple, relevant financial performance metrics.

Essential Functions

Responsible for all day-to-day accounting and financial aspects of the company including management of receivables, payables, employee 401K plan, and cash.

  1. Manage banking operations which include cash management, disbursement and receipt management and related reconciliation and reporting

  2. Analyze, recommend & implement controls over accounting transactions according to GAAP

  3. Mentor, train and supervise a small accounting staff

  4. Prepare recurring periodic financial reports; Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Income Statement, KPI’s; multi-entity consolidations

  5. Assist with complex budget and forecasting preparation and reporting, including actual versus budget variance analysis

  6. Assist with building insightful, recurring reports and dashboards that output performance driving KPIs & takeaway’s

  7. Generate ad-hoc custom reports by pulling data from multiple systems

  8. Calculate and execute incentive compensation programs for employees

  9. Manage insurance policies; D&O, E&O, GL, PL, WC; annual audit requirements & renewals 

  10. Prepare documents supporting the annual audit and tax returns

  11. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements

  12. Participate in the development of the annual budget and rolling updates

  13. Determine job cost reporting for ongoing projects and participate in development of product pricing and project quotes

Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration required

  2. Seven years or more of progressive, related experience required

  3. Certified Management Accountant or Certified Public Accountant designation preferred

  4. Participation in systems integration and implementation preferred

  5. Experience in Biotech/Healthcare industry preferred

Skills and Abilities

  1. Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, including modeling and scenario analysis

  2. Expert in Excel

  3. Highly proficient in QuickBooks 

  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  5. Excellent organizational and time management skills

  6. Able to analyze and understand end to end processes
