San Diego Human Resources Consulting, Inc., has been growing over the past 17+ years and recognized as one of the best employers in San Diego.  We are seeking a Remote Part-Time Attorney to join our team conducting onsite investigations and or conducting legal analysis such as updating employment contracts,  providing legal/hr guidance for our clients in Southern CA, mostly San Diego and some nationwide.    

This is an awesome opportunity for a stay at home parent or professional who wants to work part-time and desires a flexible work-from-home schedule with occasional client site visits and a lot of work can be conducted remote: via Video, Phone and Email.  We are looking for someone who is available to work weekdays during business hours (M-F, 8am-5pm). Please note if you are between full-time jobs or looking for full-time employment, this is NOT for you. 

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct and oversee workplace investigations and provide guidance to clients, colleagues, company and legal counsel

  • Provide legal guidance to clients and employees regarding investigations, contracts, layoffs, terminations, employment law matters and other personnel actions

  • Provide updates and support to clients regarding new HR and employment law developments and regulations

  • Assist, support, advise and represent clients in administrative employment matters pending before the EDD, DFEH, EEOC, DLSE, DIR, and other governmental agencies

  • Create, edit and update clients’ HR forms, employment contracts and agreements

  • Respond and provide guidance to client inquiries regarding day-to-day human resources operations, policies, and procedures

  • Respond to employment-related HR questions from our internal HR consultants

  • Create and deliver sexual harassment and other management training

  • Conduct or oversee HR practices and policies audits

  • Prepare and deliver client seminars and webcasts 

Job Requirements:

  • Active California bar status 

  • Employment law background and experience conducting workplace investigations and legal or management training experience is ideal and we’re more than willing to train

  • Provide legal support and guidance to SDHRC management and clients

  • Assist, support, and guide other SDHRC employees on HR and employment law matters

  • Deliver creative and well-written work product in a timely manner with minimal errors

  • Communicate regularly with SDHRC management regarding projects, tasks and current issues

  • Be flexible (not as in doing the splits, but as in managing and prioritizing multiple tasks and projects)
