The Director of Business Applications reports to the Vice President of Service Delivery and leads a diverse team of Developers, DBAs and Analysts, partnering with our clients to use technology as a competitive advantage in meeting their business objectives. The Director of Business Applications is responsible for building revenue for ZAG and for positioning the team for growth.  Top priorities will include up-leveling the organization, providing strong collaborative leadership and technical expertise to this group, and driving transformation efforts.

Pre-Requisites (i.e., experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for position)

  • A Bachelor’s degree in IT / Computer Science or related field

  • Ability to lead effective teams in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving environment

  • Ability to form strong cross-functional partnerships

  • Proven leadership in design, programming and testing business applications

  • Ability to provide strategic vision to the Executive team

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including technical writing skills

  • Ability to recognize client needs and design applications that answer those needs

  • Strong customer service and customer focused skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills to ensure the project moves forward

  • Experience developing utilizing a variety of application languages

  • Proven skills with database technologies

  • Full software development life cycle including architecting, designing, testing, deployment, documentation and support activities.

  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as high ethical standards.

  • Knowledge of SQL, D365, Kronos, PowerApps, .net core framework, etc.

  • Experience in the Agriculture industry is a plus.

  • Work with the teams to help turn client business requirements into solutions

  • Own and develop relationship with our partners, working with them to optimize and enhance company business systems and applications

  • Lead the design, build, document and maintain application systems and processes

  •  Responsible for project delivery

  • Seek improvement on business systems, discover and identify issues and deliver better value to the client

  •  Contribute content for ZAG’s Thought Leadership program
