Provide support to the PEO USC Aviation Integration Director would align to support a broad spectrum of aviation issues to include, but not limited to acquisition support, system and sea frame certification, new technology introduction, fleet operational interface, and test and evaluation activities across all PMOs with PEO USC. Tasking will also include aviation integration activities in support of PMS 515 in the development/new construction/operational development of the Guided Missile Fast Frigate (FFG(X)). The scope of responsibility will remain fluid and depending on the system or issue, the responsibility range between providing technical, and programmatic in-sight and advocacy, to project  planning, managing, resourcing and execution.
 
The duties associated with this position include but are not limited to:
 
Supports the PEO USC aviation director as the interface with NAVAIR and associated
TYCOM, Aviation PEOs and Program Offices. Provide a continuous POC for integration of aviation capabilities on LCS/FFG(X).  Specifically,
1) Identifies risks to successful development and integration of aviation systems for PEO USC
2) Coordinates resolution/mitigation of aviation issues for PEO USC programs
3) Coordinates ship integration requirements between Ship PMs and Aviation PMs (Aviation Facilities Certification (AVCERT))
4) Coordinates response to validated and emergent aviation system requirements
 
As requested, supports the LCS/FFG(X) Aviation/Ship Integration Externally Directed Team Lead (A/SI EDTL) assisting with the aviation integration effort leveraging the following functional areas in support of the MH-60 & MQ-8 T/M/S air vehicles:
1) Aircraft Launch and Recovery
2) Aircraft Movement and Parking
3) Aircraft Turnaround and Servicing (incl. Lubricants, Electrical, Pneumatics, Nitrogen)
4) Aviation Fuel Storage, Movement & Handling
5) Aviation Weapons Storage, Movement & Handling
7) Aircraft Firefighting
8) Aircraft Maintenance (on/off aircraft)
9) Aviation Manpower and Training
10) Aviation Element of the LCS/FFG(X) Combat System
 
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent military experience (7 years) (aviation experience preferred)
Able to communicate (oral and written) with senior leadership
 
Location of position – Washington Navel Yard, with travel to Pax River.
 
 The successful candidate will have the education and experience below:
 
  • A bachelor's degree from an institution accredited through a U.S. Department of Education approved agency is highly desired.  Master’s degree is preferred. At least ten (10) years of relevant experience is required.
  • Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, including US Citizenship, for access to classified information.
  • An Active DoD SECRET clearance is required.
 
The Working Environment:  The physical environment requires the employee to work on-site at the government program office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.  The employee may be required to walk short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.  In some occasions, the employee may be required to drive to offices or buildings near the work site.  In rare occasions, travel may be required.
