ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assist all guests, and colleagues, in a positive, warm, and professional manner
- Work alongside other restaurant employees and managers in a collaborative manner with one goal in mind, to exceed guest expectations
- Curate a unique dining experience for guests by fulfilling their needs or communicating to the correct station or position as to what the needs of the guest and table are
- All-encompassing knowledge regarding current food and beverage choices (food, wine, cocktail menus) and the ability to communicate this knowledge to our guests
- Ability to use POS and reservation platform
- Knowledge regarding all standard operating procedures (SOP’s)
- Up to date knowledge on restaurant affairs (new dishes, SOP’s, beverages, and 86’s)
- Provide assistance to a sommelier and/or beverage team. Such assistance can include: pouring by-the-glass wines, executing wine pairings, opening corkage, or providing purchased bottle service
- Perform opening and closing side work with a sense of urgency and accuracy
- Sincere and warm guest interaction; the ability to show professional warmth while maintaining one’s own individual character
- Observe guests to respond to any additional requests and/or to determine when the meal has been completed
- Assist in special events: event location set-up; performance of service; and break down of event
- Thorough knowledge of hotel amenities, property grounds, history, local restaurants, travel destinations, local events, and transportation information
- Provide in-room dining to guests in the rooms, pools, or other common areas
- Ensure clean and safe work practices, including compliance with company, local and state health department safety and food handling regulations
ESSENTIAL WORK SKILLS:
- Ability to analyze guests needs, and maximize revenue potential by using proper up-selling techniques to enhance the guest experience
- Work successfully with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds
- Multitask while paying attention to detail and completing tasks in a timely manner
- Strong organizational skills, self motivated, team player and detail oriented
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English; secondary languages preferred for communication with ESL guests and staff alike
- Flexible work schedule with open availability for holidays, weekdays, and weekends; can adjust to the needs of the guest and service staff
- Well-groomed, professional image and appearance as outlined in Employee Handbook
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Must have a High School diploma; college or secondary education preferred
- Must have at least 2 years of bartender experience in a refined dining establishment
- Ability to obtain CA Food Handler Permit within 30 days of hire
- Desire to stay abreast for food and beverage trends
- Proven track record of providing a unique guest experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to use repetitive hand and body motions on a regular basis (such as grasping, writing, typing, listening, hearing and visual acuity)
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time on varying ground levels with stairs on a regular basis
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis, and be able to bend, stoop, stretch, climb and squat frequently to fulfill a range of manual tasks

PAY: $20 per hour, plus gratuity
