This position is responsible for the day to day operations of the facility including the following, but not limited to: production; quality control; handling the aspects related to plant personnel and customers; scheduling necessary plant maintenance. We are seeking an individual that's eager to learn and grow while continuing a career in the mining industry. Previous knowledge in aggregates and construction materials arena is ideal!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Maintain a safe work environment for themselves and co-workers;
  • Manage site and all aspects of the day to day operations;
  • Plan mining procedures in most efficient and cost effective manner;
  • Follow all company policies and all OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment;
  • Ensure daily maintenance is completed and schedule appointments for any major repairs;
  • Report any problems to the Operations Manager, Safety Manager, or Human Resources Manager;
  • Manage personnel as well as schedule and monitor time worked;
  • Train employees on proper operations, servicing, and minor repair of equipment;
  • Perform general laboring duties when necessary;
  • Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required; and
  • Other duties as assigned per supervisor.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, BS in Mining Engineering or related field a plus;
  • Two years of related experience and/or training preferred;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all organization levels, including senior management;
  • Experience within the construction industry strongly preferred;
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices;
  • Excellent communication skills and professional personal presentation;
  • Organizing; planning, and customer service orientation;
  • Maintain current driver’s license that meets state requirements; 
  • Have a Motor Vehicle Record that meets company standards;
  • Be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold;
  • Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook; 
  • Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co–workers or supervisors with other duties as required;
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and / or MSHA;
     
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS CONTINUED:
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required;
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary;
  • Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA;
  • Compliance with all OSHA and/or MSHA regulations;
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in plant maintenance;
  • Ability to read, write and do basic mathematical calculations;
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions;
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing;
  • Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely;
  • Ability to work well and efficiently with others;
  • Ability to work with computer software, including Microsoft Office;
  • Great attention to detail and stress tolerance; and
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft products preferred.
