DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervising multiple mechanics with varying skill levels.
  • Responsibility of training, supervising, communicating, and evaluating multiple direct reports.
  • Preparing and maintaining employee work schedules.
  • Prioritizing workloads and shop tasks on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Managing employee concerns and questions in an evolving and changing climate.
  • Ensuring and maintaining a safety standard inside and outside of the shop. Ensuring employees are following expectations, policies, procedures, and best practices as per company policy.
  • Creating and maintaining a clean and organized shop environment.
  • Ordering, documenting, managing, and maintaining parts / supply inventory.
  • Maintaining fleet records for 55+ trucks, ensuring compliance on annual inspections and DVIRs.
  • Effectively leading and motivating the shop team to meet and exceed business needs.
  • Additional duties as assigned by management.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Must have 3+ years of diesel mechanics experience
  • Must have proven leadership skills
  • Computer experience required, with the ability to learn and teach new systems and procedures.
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is a plus.
  • Open mindedness and strong verbal and written communications skills are critical for success.
