Traffic Signalization

Salary Range: $26-$32/hr. plus prevailing wage opportunities

Location: Rochester, NY

Primary Function and Scope:

As a Traffic Signal Technician, you will be expected to perform tasks involving physical labor for Traffic Signal and Highway Lighting construction projects.

Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Install conduit and wiring for both traffic signal systems and highway lighting.
  • Must be familiar with traffic signal and street lighting systems and be able to troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct malfunction.
  • Physical labor is required and will include but is not limited to installing signal heads, streetlights, cameras, and electrical services.
  • Wire traffic signal cabinets, assemble signal heads, install streetlights, and overhead signs.
  • Work around hazardous equipment, energized parts, or equipment.
  • Perform work from aerial devices and ladders.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have valid NYS Driver’s License in good standing.
  • Has excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Is a strong team player that works well with coworkers.
  • Must be available to work any shift.
  • Most work is scheduled between 7:00AM and 3:00 PM, however overtime and off shift work will be required at times. Must be available to work any shift.
  • The ability to travel when required. Including overnight(s) on occasions.
  • Will be required to respond to some on-call or off-hour service calls.
  • Must have a positive attitude, a record of reliability and a desire to be trained in the safe performance of the work.
  • OSHA 10 Card is a plus.
  • CDL License is a plus.
  • Master electrician license is a plus.
