Traveling Master Carpenter/Superintendent (Farmington, NY)
Job Title: Master Carpenter / Superintendent, NY
Base Location: Farmington, New York
Pay Range: $40 - $50/hr. with travel pay
We’re looking for a Master Carpenter / Superintendent who is available for regular regional travel to lead our passionate and creative installation team out of our Farmington, New York HQ.
This hands-on leadership role requires extensive high-quality-oriented framing & general carpentry experience, as well as an interest in and aptitude for building high-performance, high-craft custom homes. The responsibilities of this role entail supervising, managing, and directing a small, dedicated crew of carpenters during the installation of work including finished T&G material as well as our prefabricated panelized enclosure systems, with a strong focus on site leadership, logistics, quality assurance, and hands-on management.
We typically work Monday-Thursday with Fridays optional for overtime. Our projects are generally regional, within a 4–6-hour drive radius from our Farmington, NY shop, so travel is required and expected, however we offer a generous increase in compensation for out-of-town installation work. Expected day-to-day working conditions to be primarily regional field installation/supervision, with some time in shop.

Required Experience:
- 10+ years carpentry experience, with 5+ years supervisory experience.
- Extensive knowledge of building sites, construction planning, crew organization, logistics, and job-site management.
- Industry experience including: Framing, Enclosures, Custom Home Construction, and Building Systems.
- Excellent math and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and managerial skillsets.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License with clean driving record.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience in high-performance home building, passive house construction, and high-efficiency enclosure systems with a general understanding of high-performance building envelopes and construction methods.
