WORK ACTIVITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Demand Planning and Forecasting
  1. Develop demand forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function.
  2. Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated Sales, Marketing and Finance assumptions.
  3. Interact with Sales, Marketing, and Finance to understand demand forecast drivers.
  4. Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach by working with Sales, Marketing and Finance to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts.
  5. Create and maintain forecast models for customers, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from Sales, Marketing, Finance, retailer replenishment analysts, and other sources.

Analysis and Reporting
  1. Ability to partner with key functions leading S&OP planning.
  2. Develop and refine standard processes as it relates to continued growth.
  3. Analyze and adjust forecast and replenishment parameters proactively to meet goals.
  4. Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
  5. Provide input across all departments in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
  6. Prepare and maintain relevant reports pertaining to demand planning process.
  7. Review sales plans, customer finance Budget Updates or Latest Estimates and demand drivers.
  8. Must be able to form strong team coalitions and efficiently lead cross-functional team members through complex and fast timelines.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or relevant studies or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5-7 years related experience in project management, innovation planning management, and demand planning, including S&OP and what inputs are needed to make a high-quality forecast
  • Advanced expertise in MS Excel
  • Demonstrated expertise in MS Excel and Word, Crystal Reports, and database mining and manipulation (e.g., Order Management System (OMS), inventory databases and purchasing software)
  • Direct supervisory experience – with a preference for manufacturing and inventory
  • A current and valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and the ability to travel 10% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
  • Language Skills: Proven experience reading and interpreting documents (e.g., bills of lading, invoices, orders, procedure manuals, and regulations) and writing reports for management, business communication and procedure manuals.
  • Mathematical Skills: Documented ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Demonstrated ability to calculate proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. 
  • Reasoning Ability: Documented ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.  Proven experience dealing with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
