SECURITY OFFICER JOB DESCRIPTION
HAVASU LANDING CASINO



DEPARTMENT:    SECURITY           
REPORTS TO:     SECURITY MANAGER

QUALIFICATIONS:           
  • Must be age 21 or older and qualify for a gaming license
  • Cannot be convicted of a felony
  • High School diploma or GED, and/or some college preferred
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write incident reports and to effectively present information in a one-on-one or small group situation to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. 
  • Security, military, or police experience preferred
  • BSIS Guard Card, CPR First Aid Certificate, and ABC Alcohol Training preferred
  • Must be physically fit, requires standing, walking, bending
  • May be required to lift a minimum of 30 pounds
  • Must have good vision (corrected 20.20)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Guard Casino property and guests against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry
  • Patrol buildings and grounds of the Casino and related areas, this includes examining doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure
  • Maintain a working knowledge of applicable laws pertaining to the gaming industry.
  • Warns violators of hours, gaming rule infractions and drinking violations
  • Apprehend persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts
  • Inspects equipment and machinery to ascertain if tampering has occurred
  • Watch for and report irregularities such as fire hazards, health hazards and security hazards to the Security Manager/Supervisor.
  • Notify the Security Control room in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons
  • Observe departing personnel to guard against theft of company property
  • Permit authorized persons to enter the property
  • Record data such as property damage, unusual occurrences and malfunctioning of equipment or machinery
  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • All other duties as assigned
