POSITION TITLE:          Warehouse Supervisor
STATUS:                         Non-Exempt
DEPARTMENT:               5283/Transportation /Operations

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE JOB: Responsible to work closely with and supervise personnel to keep flow of daily activities on task with a focus on safety. Delegate daily tasks to personnel and support manager with all operations as needed.


  • At the direction of the manager, oversee warehouse, direct activities of warehouse staff (MH, MH1, MH1+).
  • Responsible for ensuring best in class safety and training programs are in place and delivered for all warehouse positions including conducting and scheduling safety meetings and trainings of warehouse personnel.
  • Train employees to operate and inspect warehouse equipment.
  •  Ensure inspection reports are completed and submitted as directed.
  • Analyze the warehouse operation, recognizes potential issues before they arise, and recommend appropriate solutions to the supervisor.
  • Prioritize tasks and meet warehouse production goals and deadlines.
  • Assume full ownership of preparing HazMat, E-Waste, and other identified Post Retail inventory for legal disposal, movement, etc. Notify Transportation/Yard Supervisor when it is time to schedule removal.
  • Document and report on loading and unloading of salvage vehicles (BOL’s) in the yard at the main warehouse facility under the guidance of the supervisor.
  • Receive, audit, and address all inspection reports of warehouse building, equipment, and supplies, including notifying manager of all needed maintenance and repairs.
  • Responsible for upkeep of a clean, well-organized warehouse following the 1 Touch philosophy.
  • Perform and/or oversee all shipping and receiving duties that enter the warehouse including intercompany mail movement and inventory at all warehouses (i.e., Donated Goods-Raw and Post Retail).
  • Coordinate all shipping and receiving of supplies, distribute, place and/or store merchandise received in the warehouse in the designated areas.
  • Prepare all inventory counts and production (i.e., bale) reports, as requested.
  • Ensures that all keys including, equipment, vehicles, lock out tag out keys, etc. are accounted for at the end of business day.
  • Ensure table rotation schedule is met in the Outlet Center.
  • Supervise and Coordinate setting up and taking down Outlet Center merchandise.

  • Back up any position in the warehouse/dock as needed to accomplish company goals.
  • Perform all duties in a safe and organized manner.
  • Adhere to all company policies.
  • Report all questionable activity and/or concerns to management.
  • Promote and adhere to the Code of Safe Practices.
  • Practice and be a role model for all loss prevention and safety rules.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting of incidents and accidents.
  • Conduct self in a courteous and professional manner at all times.
  • Effectively manage time and monitor staff time to ensure work is being completed efficiently.
  • Exhibit positive leadership resulting in a positive work atmosphere for customers, clients, participants, co-workers, and management.
  • Attend all scheduled meetings, including safety and online safety trainings as required.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Must have two-year supervisory experience and proven track record for teamwork.
  • Regular on-site attendance is required due to the interactive requirements of the position.
  • Three or more years’ experience in material handling, warehouse operations, transportation, or donated goods product flow.
  • Ability to interact well with co-workers and the public, both orally, and in writing.
  • Present a clean and well-groomed appearance.
  • Organized and able to work independently.
  • Good communication skills, both in writing, and orally.
  • Able to positively influence and motivate assigned staff.
  • Ability to handle and resolve inquiries and complaints tactfully and professionally.
  • Able to regularly lift to 50 pounds with or without accommodation.
  • Computer skills are a must. Beginning to intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
  • Forklift experience required.
  • Must have a valid California Drivers’ License, an acceptable DMV Report, and be insurable.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Continuous exposure to all weather elements/conditions resulting from regular working indoors and outside. Walking on surfaces include asphalt, concrete, dirt, tile, linoleum, carpet including uneven surfaces. Constant exposure to moving machinery and vehicles. Moderate to loud continues noise level. Moderate dust level exposure. Office with standard office equipment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Standing, sitting, walking intermittently throughout work shift. Frequently lifting up to 50lbs. Bending, twisting, stooping, pulling, pushing, including pushing and pulling pallet jacks, reaching and grasping. Gross manual dexterity skills required. Visual acuity, hearing and verbal skills required.
