This position has a starting pay of $21.00 per hour with a 35 hour work week.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE JOB: 
Coordinate the efforts of the LEAP program.  Work with Sonoma County HSD staff, SonomaWORKS staff, and area schools for purposes of training and providing technical assistance regarding learning disabilities.  Coordinate services for a variety of learning disabilities. 

PROVIDES SUPERVISION TO:   None  

RESPONSIBILITIES - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Provide direct client services with a job search emphasis for a specialized caseload (31%)
  • Interpret diagnostic testing, including neuropsychological testing, learning disability diagnostic testing, and accommodation plans for employment or education (19%)
  • Ensure that client case records are maintained in accordance with CARF standards (18%)
  • Develop, modify and implement accommodation plans (16%)
  • Work with the Director of Workforce Development and HSD staff to develop and implement short-range and long-range goals for the program (16%)
  • Coordinate marketing efforts for the program with referral sources 
  • Responsible for representing programs at conferences and community events
  • Teach HSD staff and partners about learning disabilities, including recognizing the differences between learning difficulties and learning disabilities
  • Work with the Train the Trainer Subcommittee to identify and train on issues related to participants with learning disabilities
 
ANCILLARY FUNCTIONS:
  • Conduct regular staff meetings. 
  • Identify staff training needs and make recommendations for training
  • Coordinate, develop, and update internal procedures for the program
  • Maintain active involvement with vocational services staff and in agency meetings
  • Keep the Director of Workforce Development advised of client referrals, issues, and trends 

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • MA degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field preferred
  • Two years of program coordination experience
  • Working knowledge of the vocational implications of a variety of disabling conditions with emphasis in learning disabilities 
  • Familiarity with the Americans with Disabilities Act
  • Have a thorough understanding of current trends in the learning disabilities field, including accepted accommodations for the work place and educational settings
  • Possess a technical knowledge of learning disability accommodations
  • Possess basic computer skills, including familiarity with word processing, spreadsheets and database management
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Access to your own transportation, valie California Driver License, acceptable DMV report, and California auto insurance 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  Clean office.  Carpet.  Overhead lighting.  Temperate climate.  Low to moderate noise level. All weather conditions in production areas.
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Sitting, standing, and walking intermittently throughout the shift.  Fine finger movements with continual computer use.  Vehicle travel.  Occasional gross manual dexterity.
