Who is I-77?
I-77 Mobility Partners LLC is financing, developing, designing, constructing, operating and maintaining the 26-mile I-77 Express project as part of a public-private partnership with the North Carolina Department of Transportation. The tolled express lanes run adjacent to the general-purpose lanes on I-77 between uptown Charlotte and Mooresville. I-77 Mobility Partners is responsible for operations and maintenance of all lanes, both express and general purpose, and right of way within the designated project corridor limits.

Your next calling: 
As the Communication and Corporate Affairs Manager, you will have the opportunity to assist in general public education and key stakeholders outreach with regard to the operation of the I-77 Mobility Partners managed lanes project. This position will support the Corporate Affairs and Communication department at I-77 Mobility Partners in North Carolina and reports directly to the Communications and Corporate Affairs Director.

Functions key to success:
  • Manage elements of the marketing strategy, including research, budget, planning, and execution of promotional and educational campaigns
  • Work closely with a marketing agency and assisting with new campaign launches
  • Develops and writes copy for marketing collateral and public relations materials such as, but not limited to, press releases, e-blasts, inserts, newsletters, brochures, fliers, fact sheets, calendars, and maps. In addition, assists with the production of educational videos and tutorials
  • Manages website content and development, including writing, editing, and uploading content on the project’s website. Manages the promoting of the website
  • Coordinates and manages the social media marketing strategy and metrics
  • Prepares a variety of monthly reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data
  • Develops, manages, monitors, and maintains projects’ social media content and platforms, as well as reviews and analyzes results
  • Manages graphics, photography, and video assets, as well as marketing and communications materials
  • Coordinates and participates in a variety of community events
  • Assists project staff in producing and making presentations in the community
  • Helps plan, coordinate and implement special events related to products and services
  • Serves as point-of-contact for stakeholders to provide information or customer service for project operations or construction
  • Gathers information on construction and project updates and inputs and distributes the data through all applicable communication channels such as mainstream and social media and website postings
  • Perform other job-related duties as needed

What you bring to the table:
You have worked hard to achieve success in your educational career, now put it to use. If you have a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related field, you are half way there with the needed abilities for this position. Do you have at least  7+ years of experience and sound knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures used in public relations, marketing, and strategic communications with multiple stakeholders? If the answer is yes, you can check off another box.  
 
With success comes a high level of professionalism. We already know you possess the following qualities, but we just wanted to remind you of what is important to I-77:
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and communications skills, with AP style familiarity, are required.
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly is required
  • Ability to organize and execute multiple projects, and pay close to attention to details
 
Finally, in a technology-driven world, it is important to know your way around a computer. For this role, it will be important to know the basics of the following:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Photoshop and any graphic design software experience is a plus. 
  • Experience with website management and content development
  • Experience with social media platforms, monitoring, and measurement tools
  • Candidates must submit writing samples (such as marketing materials, press releases, and social media and web content, for instance) and be prepared to take a writing test
     
Our working environment:
I-77 wants to ensure that all employees are comfortable and able to work in the type of culture and environment we have built our business on. Our culture relies on in-person collaboration and teamwork to leverage the full potential of our multidisciplinary teams, therefore the position is 100% office based. Our office is typically quiet with low noise levels; however, you will often hear employees laughing and talking amongst themselves. Effective communication will be key for this role and will require you to talk and hear others. You will probably spend a majority of your time sitting and/or walking around the office, whether to visit a co-worker or make it to a meeting on time and there may be occasional long hours to put in if you are diligently working to complete a project and finish a report. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus, as necessary to use a computer.  There could be a time when you may need to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, but not very often.
