Your next calling: 
As the CAV Senior Engineer, you will have the opportunity to assist in making things happen in the technology domain of the express lanes developed by Cintra in US. This includes the turnkey delivery and operation of cloud applications which support Toll and Intelligent Transportation Systems in our multibillion I-66 (Washington, DC), DFW (Dallas-Fort Worth in Texas) and I-77 (Charlotte, NC) projects, and occurs in a complex environment in which different stakeholders share the services provided by CTS. A year ago, Ferrovial (CTS’ parent company) announced the creation of AIVIA (Artificially Intelligent VIA) Orchestrated Connected Corridors, an initiative to develop 5G smart roads and advanced monitoring, sensorization and simulation technology. Within this program, CTS will oversee the AIVIA service in US, including the development, delivery, and operation of cutting edge connected and autonomous vehicle applications.
Having a deep understanding of traffic operations and project delivery, the CAV Senior Engineer will be able to maximize the added value of the projects when aligning the detailed design and operations of the System to the AIVIA long-term business vision.

Functions key to success:
  • Works in coordination with a wide range of stakeholders as per below, making sure that all of them are aligned to the requirements and priorities to be met.
    • Ferrovial and Cintra Innovation Offices.
    • CTS Technical Office.
    • Operational and technical teams of the concessionaires.
    • Development team.
  • The key responsibilities of the CAV Senior Engineer include:
    • Establish the proper requirements to operationalize the AIVIA system and ensure its availability.
    • Operate the AIVIA service to the concessionaires.
    • Operate the Digital Twin of the express lane to ensure that the information plan executed by the AIVIA system is optimized.
    • Stakeholder management
  • Based on the AIVIA operational requirements and the needs of each concession, the CAV Senior Engineer will define the functional and technical requirements of the AIVIA system, through gap analysis, requirements definition, process improvement design, and efficiency improvement.
  • Is accountable to ensure that the AIVIA service is be delivered in time, and the functionality offered by the core of the AIVIA system meets the necessities of the operation of the service, in a manner in which the parametrization is as simple as possible and the modules designed to fulfill particular needs are as small as possible, keeping product vision.
  • Ensures that the AIVIA development is carried out in full compliance with
    • The obligations of CTS in the service contracts with the concessionaires.
    • Concession contracts.
    • Day-to-day routine and preventative maintenance.
    • Technical Office recommendations
  • Is knowledgeable of the backlog items added to the list as well as items selected for work. The CAV Senior Engineer changes and sets the priority of product backlog item list based on the needs of the AIVIA service. The role also manages the release cycle planning to ensure that the development team can deliver updated project iterations on a continuous basis.
  • Ensures that product development translates into value for the stakeholders. Communication with end-users, business executives, partners and the development team is therefore a key responsibility.
  • Maintains and shares common functional knowledge across the organization, including the organization of communities of practices
  • Determines appropriate next-best action plans for the development throughout the development cycle.
  • Advises senior management on strategic systems and integrations in support of business goals and objectives.
  • Provides input to prepare the annual budget of each concessionaire aligned to the expected AIVIA system development roadmap.
  • Collaborates with the Technical Office in defining strategic evolution plans for the AIVIA system, related with the following aspects:
    • Support when establishing (or maintain) and implement short- and long-term area goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
    • Assess new computing technologies to determine potential value to the development of the AIVIA system.
    • Develop strategic plans and implement the objectives of the information technology needs of the Company to ensure the computer capabilities are responsive to the needs of the Company's growth and objectives

What you bring to the table:
You have worked hard to achieve success in your educational career, now put it to use. If you have a Bachelor of Science  in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, you are halfway there with the needed abilities for this position. Do you have at least  4 to 7+ years of experience in Traffic Management Operations in a complex environment with hierarchical and functional relationships? What about previous experience in the implementation of IT systems in the traffic domain, including the integration of traffic management systems between different entities including FHWA, State DoTs, Counties, toll operators, and other public agencies? If the answer is yes, that would be the cherry on top.

Our working environment:
Cintra wants to ensure that all employees are comfortable and able to work in the type of culture and environment we have built our business on. Our office is typically quiet with low noise levels; however, you will often hear employees laughing and talking amongst themselves. Effective communication will be key for this role and will require you to talk and hear others. You will probably spend a majority of your time sitting and/or walking around the office, whether to visit a co-worker or make it to a meeting on time and there may be occasional long hours to put in if you are diligently working to complete a project and finish a report. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus, as necessary to use a computer.  There could be a time when you may need to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, but not very often.
