Your next calling: 
As the Senior Design & Construction Engineer, you will have the opportunity to be a member of a highly skilled and specialized team within the organization,  is an essential part during the procurement, implementation and operation stages of the company project portfolio. The Senior Design & Construction Engineer is responsible for design, construction and environmental related aspects strategic analysis and management when pursuing new project opportunities.
  • Manage the technical aspects (Design, Construction and Environmental) throughout project bidding phase (Project Proposal preparation). This includes but is not limited to:
    • Overseeing all D&C and Environmental Project Proposal related works
    • Facilitate coordination of project designers with traffic and revenue and operations teams
    • Interfacing with business development department to develop technical approach for bidding
    • Attending project meetings with clients
    • Preparation of Technical Documents to be submitted as part of the proposal
    • Presentation and discussion of proposal technical aspects for company executives
    • Leads the coordination with external technical consultants during the preparation of Project Proposals
  • Provide technical support to concession companies in Cintra’s portfolio during project implementation and operational phases, this includes but is not limited to:
    • Provide technical inputs on the optimization of designs and construction
    • Participate in the annual revision of budgets
    • Implement best operation practices in concession companies
    • Prepare  annual cost benchmarking reports with other projects in the portfolio
  • Prepare materials and provide senior level reporting and advice on their areas of responsibility
  • Supervise, train and evaluate the performance of direct reports
  • Responsible for recruitment and hiring efforts for the department
What you bring to the table:
You have worked hard to achieve success in your educational career, now put it to use. If you have a Master’s Degree  in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural, Transportation, or Construction Management, you are halfway there with the needed abilities for this position. Do you have at least  10 years or more  in highway or roadway engineering experience? A Professional Engineer (PE) certification would be a cherry on top.  The ideal candidate would have expertise in the following:
  • Previous design-build experience required
  • Working knowledge of the principles and practices of Civil Engineering and Construction Methods, Materials and Equipment
  • The ability to understand, explain and administer DOT contracts
  • Ability to interpret construction plans, provisions, standards and specifications
  • Previous experience representing a company to a DOT or any other public entity, regarding the execution of State and Federally funded construction projects
  • Familiarity with  environmental documents (e. g., Biological Assessments, Section 4(f) evaluations) and NEPA studies
  • Able to review and interpret various technical studies into NEPA documentation

Finally, in a technology-driven world, it is important to know your way around a computer. For this role, it will be important to know the basics of the following:
  • Must be able to demonstrate computer proficiency, especially as to Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint and other PC based programs
  • Knowledge of MicroStation, AutoCAD and Geopack preferred

Our working environment:
Cintra wants to ensure that all employees are comfortable and able to work in the type of culture and environment we have built our business on. Our office is typically quiet with low noise levels; however, you will often hear employees laughing and talking amongst themselves. Effective communication will be key for this role and will require you to talk and hear others. You will probably spend a majority of your time sitting and/or walking around the office, whether to visit a co-worker or make it to a meeting on time and there may be occasional long hours to put in if you are diligently working to complete a project and finish a report. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus, as necessary to use a computer.  There could be a time when you may need to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, but not very often.
