Sales/Estimating:
  • Prepare work to be estimated by identifying labor, material & time requirements by gathering and studying proposals, blueprints, specifications and related documents;
  • Ability to understand scope of work to bid;
  • Coordinate customer RFQs with internal departments;
  • Drive & aid in the development of project estimates by reviewing/processing customer purchase orders and contracts;
  • Develop sales opportunities by building upon existing customer sales; understanding customer needs; negotiate & sell company’s products;
  • Process/review customer purchase orders and contracts;
  • Analyze job order cost variance reports for repeat quotes & orders;
  • Update routings & bill of materials (BOM) as needed;
  • Oversee the tracking of customer service inquiries (and responses), on-time delivery reports & return of material authorizations for the maintaining of weekly metric report;
  • Coordinate Trade shows, marketing material and events including liaison with local high school events;
  • Overall support of Sales & Customer Service efforts as required;
Project Management:
  • Work closely with senior management to ensure scope & direction is on schedule, as well as other departments for support;
  • Ensure production schedule is coordinated with outside vendors to maintain accurate project deadlines;
  • Responsible & accountable for project completion ensuring timelines, deliverables and quality standards are met while cognizant of delivery dates & inventory levels for fulfillment;
  • Build strong alliances across all functions and is a strategic liaison to carry out and fulfill projects within required timelines;
  • Resolves project issues and ensures timely follow-up on all customer concerns;
  • Lead APQP (advanced product quality planning efforts (FMEA, Measurement Systems Analysis, SPC a& PPAP) for new projects in conjunction with Quality Control, Document Control and Quality Assurance areas;
  • Sets up calls and attends customer meetings to ensure an effortless experience for customer;
  • Create and execute project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements;
  • Identifies project resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities;
  • Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope;
  • Serves as liaison for new & current projects and communication between customer and internal departments;
  • Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to client;
  • Effectively applies our methodology and enforces project standards including project documents are complete, current & stored appropriately;
  • Minimizes the company’s exposure and risk on projects by maintaining project documentation, customer communications and understanding the valid requirements;
  • Compiles and maintains control records and related files to release blueprints, drawings, and engineering documents to manufacturing and other operating departments;
  • Examines documents, such as blueprints, drawings, change orders, and specifications to verify completeness and accuracy of data;
  • Confers with document originators or engineering liaison personnel to resolve discrepancies and compiles required changes to documents;
  • Coordinates posts/changes to computerized or manual control records, releases documents, and notifies affected departments. Maintains related files;

Additional Skills & Responsibilities:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred with 3-5 years of project management work experience or a Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of manufacturing experience required;
  • Experience with quality system documentation practices;
  • Knowledge of ISO, AS9100 and FDA concepts and guidelines;
  • Strong project management, communication, prioritization, analytical problem-solving and organizational skills;
  • Possess excellent written and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work on complex assignments in collaboration with various department system owners;
  • Adaptable and able to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid changes;
  • Presents a polished, professional manner and is eager to learn and be challenged;
  • Proficient use of MS Office suite (including MS Project);
  • Results and success oriented, conveying a sense of urgency and driving issues to closure;
  • Must be capable or working independently under minimal supervision and with others in a positive and collaborative manner;
  • Previous experience with Pro Engineering or Autodesk Inventor software a plus;
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing shop environment (including hot, cold and/or noisy areas);
  • Frequent hand to finger, handle, feel objects & tools, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking and hearing;
  • Physically submit to periodic drug tests (employment is contingent upon favorable results).
