General Summary:
The MRI/CT  Technologist performs MRI /CT examinations on patients of all ages for the purpose of assisting in the diagnosis of patient illnesses.  Maintains equipment according to specifications.
This is a full time position.

Job Specifics
1  .Education:  Minimum graduate of two (2) year radiographic education program.
2.  Licensure:  Registered ARRT - RT ( R ), recommend  - (MR), (CT)
3.  Experience:  One ( 1 ) year MR and CT experience.
4.  Special Skills:  Must have the ability to work quickly in an orderly fashion.  Must be able to work well under stress.  CPR certification preferred upon hire.  Ability to start and maintain peripheral IV lines. Basic computer skills including familiarity with electronic medical records and PACs system.
5. Physical Abilities: Will be assisting with transferring of patients/large pieces of equipment (requiring ability to frequently lift 40 lbs).

7. Dexterity:  Frequent repetitive motions of hands/wrists involved.
8. Working Conditions:  Must work well with others, work as a team, be flexible and helpful with workload.
9. Hazards and Risks:  Exposure to electromagnetic field and radio frequency.  Direct patient contact with possible exposure to communicable disease, blood and body fluids.  Exposure to computer screen.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform ordered MRI and CT examinations of appropriate anatomical regions in accordance with accepted standards of practice and protocols of Radiologist.
1. Under guidance and approval of Radiologist, administer contrast agents according to specific protocols.
2. Position patients on the scanner surface in order to facilitate the performance of MRI examination.
3. Maintain patient care, comfort and safety during the MRI and CT examination.
4. E-send images to outside locations.
5. Maintain technical competency through continued education and participation in company sponsored training programs.
6. Maintain a clean environment.
7. Complete necessary administrative tasks,  i.e.:time/activity reports, patient logs, applicable maintenance and QA testing.
8. Follow preventative maintenance guidelines and ensure proper maintenance of all equipment. Work with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical failures.
9. Cooperate with facility healthcare personnel.
10.Know the basic principles to perform CPR and be aware of the policy and procedures in an emergency or cardiac arrest situation within the unit.
11.Complies with Federal and State laws and regulations, and BHSH's compliance program, policies and procedures.
12. Project a professional image at all times.
13. Maintain consistent attendance.
14. Maintain good interpersonal working relationship.
15. Other duties as assigned.
