AvtechTyee is searching for a Manufacturing Supervisor with continuous improvement experience and a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude to help position our company for new growth and improved social responsibility.  Project management skills would be a real plus! 

Since 1958 AvtechTyee has been a leader in the design, development, and manufacture of electronic systems and structural parts for the aerospace industry, with a focus in Communications, Power Lighting and Control, Electro-Mechanical, Switches and Connectors, Indicators, and Rods and Struts.  AvtechTyee’ s products are flying onboard 42 aircraft types within the air transport, regional commuter, and business jet sectors, serving 450 customers in 49 countries of the world.  AvtechTyee manufactures a large range of Tie Rods, Push-Pull Rods, and Control Rods assemblies in Aluminum, Titanium, or Stainless Steel and our composite strut design combines lightweight composite materials with AvtechTyee’s proprietary insert.  AvtechTyee can design a customized rod to fit any aerospace application. Our versatility in supporting aerospace electronics requirements ranges from the custom design and manufacturing of complex power supplies to complete Digital Audio Systems. You will be working on the electronics team, supporting our Audio and Electronics departments.  
Your primary responsibilities will be:
  • Studies production schedules, assigns work and estimates worker hour requirements for successful completion of job assignments while meeting delivery, quality, and cost metrics.
  • Recommends and initiates measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product within company guidelines
  • Proactively works to improve working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, departments or work crew
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems
  • Effectively interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations
  • Correctly interprets specifications, blueprints and job orders to workerss and effectively assigns duties
  • Meets production schedules, efficiencies and utilization targets
  • Accurately maintains time and production records
  • Correctly and efficiently estimates, requisitions and inspects material as required
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments; successfully collaborates cross-functionally to deliver business results
  • Reports machine and equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel and follows up to ensure successful and timely resolution
  • Ensures the smooth transition of work between shifts

And you will have
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Management or Operations Management
  • Three to five years’ supervisory experience
  • Experience in Aerospace or other regulatory industry with an electronics focus is preferred
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Better than average written and spoken communication skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a department and department staff members
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment
  • Strong focus and attention to detail
  • Time management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and multi-task in a complex business environment
  • Excellent problem solving and decision making skills
  • Strong focus on customer service
  • Ability to quickly master new business knowledge and technical skills

**Must be authorized to work in the U.S.**

The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $110,000k, depending on experience.
