Summary

AvtechTyee is seeking an energetic, inquisitive, and disciplined Engineering Intern for projects covering Audio 2025 Tablet Programming. The candidate will interface with several critical functional groups within the business, including: AvtechTyee Engineering and Operations.  The candidate will contribute to a team that works with AvtechTyee Audio Systems Group.  This is a project-based, process-focused role where the candidate will be responsible for specific deliverables at the end of the internship, specifically:  Tablet Graphics based SW application that interfaces with Touchscreen.  While project-based, the internship is designed to be “real-world” experience and the candidate should expect to spend as much as 50% of the time engaged with actual day-to-day departmental and business demands which will require/develop proficiency in prioritizing and multi-tasking. In addition, the candidate will rely on skills relating to organizational ability, tactical and strategic thinking, interpersonal savvy, composure under duress, business acumen, balancing empathy with business demands, and professional oral and written communication.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 
  • SW development on Android Touchscreen Tablet to create Graphic screens that will be interactive with touchscreen
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired Education and Experience
  • SW development experience
  • Some college with coursework in SW Development
  • Experience with Graphics based programming on Android OS
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Project Description

The project will be programming an Android OS based Tablet with a touchscreen to display a graphical representation of an Audio Control Panel and to have some features of this screen change with interactive touch screen inputs.
 
Project Deliverables:
  • Working SW program running on Tablet along with documentation describing what it does and how it works
  • Work closely with project lead engineer on Audio 2025 project and report weekly (or biweekly) status
  • Formal project report out and presentation to the leadership team at completion of internship

Intern will complete a confidential pre-internship survey describing goals and expectations and a confidential post-internship survey evaluating the program, the department, and the company as a whole.  Human Resources will use this information to provide feedback and coaching to employees involved in the program and to drive improvements to the Internship Program overall.
