Role Summary
Join our team as Director of Food and Beverage and become one of the authors of our story.  The Director of Food and Beverage is the strategic business leader of the property's Food and Beverage department responsible for planning, developing, implementing and evaluating the quality of Food & Beverage offerings. This role works with direct reports to develop and implement departmental strategies and ensures implementation of the brand service strategy and brand initiatives. The position ensures Food & Beverage operations meet the brand’s standards, targets customer needs, ensures employee engagement, focuses on growing revenues and maximizes the financial performance of the department. Develops and implements property-wide strategies that deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of Auberge Resorts Collection target customer and team members and provides a return on investment to the owner and company.

Key Responsibilities
Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done!  Within the Auberge family, our people always find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their team-mates. Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are:
 

  • Plan, direct and coordinate F&B activities for resort restaurants, pool side service, in-room dining, napa pantry (mini bar) and banquets.
  • Ensure the quality, creativity and variety of the food and beverage offerings.
  • Oversee revenue achievement, cost control, payroll management, purchasing, receiving, budgeting, forecasting, standards development and maintenance and staff.
  • Participate in the preparation of the resort's strategic marketing plans.
  • Prepare and execute on F&B budget.
  • Provide leadership in outlets ensuring a smooth running and profitable operations.
  • Liaise with Talent and Culture in all team member matters including recruiting, performance management and coaching and counseling to ensure effective staffing, productiving and delivery of the guest experience.
  • Identify training needs and ensure continuous improvement of the guest experience.
  • Partner with Executive Chef in developing menus and pricing.
  • Oversee development of beverage and wine programs.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards and liquor laws.
  • Select and liaise with top suppliers with a focus on local and diverse offerings.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years Food & Beverage leadership experience in luxury hotel brand.
  • Working knowledge of hospitality departments including restaurants, in-room dining, mini bar and banquets.
  • Proven ability to lead a team
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, according to department needs
  • Computer literate, ability to learn new programs, interact with Excel/Word and GSuite, Opera, Delphi, Micros POS.
  • Outgoing and enthusiastic with a positive attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, including in front of a group, with ability to communicate detailed instructions and hold team accountable for results
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to work with people from a variety of backgrounds.
  • Self-motivated and results oriented
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret various reports (payroll, financial)
  • Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy


Desired Qualifications
  • Spanish language competency
  • Bachelor’s degree, Hospitality or Business Administration preferred or equivalent experience
  • Project management experience
