Role Summary
Wellness for your body and mind takes center stage at Spa Solage. The Director of Spa is responsible for managing a smooth flow of business at the while providing guests and members with the highest level of guest service to increase sales and encourage repeat business.  The Director of Spa maintains this level of excellence by hiring, training and supervising the most qualified team members.

Core Responsibilities
Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done!  Within the Auberge family, our people always find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their team-mates. Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are:

  • Manage and supervise spa Fitness department, Locker room attendants and Spa Coordinator operations to ensure a smooth flow of business and a high level of guest satisfaction.  Be present in the spa with guests and staff every day.  Explain and promote all spa facilities, services and activities.

  • Ensure the Fitness department, Locker room attendants and Spa Front Desk operate efficiently and that all team members are adhering to protocol and procedures. Work with maintenance department to ensure that all systems are in excellent working condition.  

  • Process payroll and therapist commissions, review and correct time edits, and submit payroll to accounting following Solage protocols.

  • Work closely with the Spa Guest services Supervisor to help solve guest issues, reconcile treatment discrepancies, and oversee accurate guest scheduling.  Be thoroughly familiar with the booking system and be able to answer questions and solve problems as needed.

  • Plan, direct and assign work for Locker room attendants and Spa Front Desk team members.

  • Work with Spa Guest Experience Supervisor to maintain training manuals and update procedures and protocols.

  • Reconcile billing and treatment discrepancies with accounting in a timely manner.

  • Work with the Resort and Day Group Coordinators to oversee group sales and events ensuring that all services run smoothly and meet guest expectations. Attend Resume meetings and site visits as needed. 

  • Work closely with Revenue Manager and Guest Experience Manager to communicate details of Spa Activations and promotions. 

  • Provide updated and accurate information regarding spa policy, new procedures, and other information that will assist the staff in effectively performing their duties.

  • Analyze labor on a daily basis, flexing staff as needed to match daily revenue.

  • Work with the Spa Guest Services Supervisors to interview, hire and train Spa Guest services team members.

  • Plan and schedule staff meetings and training programs and ensure all staff are attending sessions on a regular and consistent basis.

  • Work with Spa Guest Services Supervisor to write and present timely associate reviews 

  • Act as contact person for GOI’s and spa guests on extended packages if Director of Wellness is not available.

  • Convey all comments, concerns and suggestions made by staff members and Solage guests to the Director of Wellness

Required Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Senior Manager including experience managing a team, and hiring, coaching and training associates. 

  • Ability to analyze financial data to create revenue generating strategies and expense control

  • Proven ability to create and implement spa service menus, s

  • Experience in planning and executing Spa events, activations and/or retreats.

  • Ability to lead a team and supervise a large staff in a very busy and dynamic spa environment.

  • Ability to demonstrate and model outstanding guest service and communication skills.

  • Ability to counsel and coach associates and solve issues in a timely manner.

  • Experience solving guest issues and create positive solutions.

  • Excellent analytical skills.

  • Excellent writing, speaking, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, to include weekend and evenings as needed.

  • Experience in sales and promotion.  Ability to identify and understand the spa guest and create promotions to increase business. 

  • Ability to work as a team and work independently.

  • Professional appearance & demeanor.

  • Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel.

  • Proven ability to build and maintain good relationships with all stakeholders

  • Communicate thoughts, actions and opportunities with strong networking skills

  • Proficient in sales, public relations and marketing strategies

  • Goal oriented while simultaneously being a problem solver
