Role Summary

Assist in managing and overseeing the daily operation in the Rooms Division - Front Office (Guest Relations Host, PBX, Bellman/Valet and Local Experts), Housekeeping and Laundry  

Core Responsibilities
Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done!  Within the Auberge family, our people always find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their team-mates.   Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are:

  1. Leading the daily operation of both guest services and housekeeping department

  2. Lead the guest services department in providing arriving guests with a warm, efficient and memorable arrival experience

  3. Maintain a culture of service excellence throughout our guests stay

  4. Assist room division managers with the recruitment, training and development of all associates.

  5. Interact frequently and positively with guests. Resolve problems/issues to the satisfaction of involved parties.

  6. Control payroll and equipment costs 

  7. Review daily revenues and labor reports and compare monthly forecasts/budgets.

  8. Hold associates accountable to a higher standard of performance

  9. Represent the rooms division in committees and meetings as needed

  10. Assist in cleaning/servicing and/or inspect studios as necessary to ensure availability for guests

  11. Assist in preparation of weekly scheduling, daily room assignments and inspections to ensure efficient use of labor; daily review of payroll and analysis to budget

  12. Assist in the effective management of purchasing process and inventory control of all guests supplies, cleaning supplies and linen

  13. Continuously identity and implement ways to improve the operation and/or increase cost savings

Required Qualifications

  1. Knowledge of Opera, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Google Docs, ALICE, Forbes Standards

  2. Cash handling experience

  3. Ability to work flexible schedule, to include weekend and evenings as needed for the benefit of departmental coverage

  4. Minimum three years  in same or similar position in a hotel/resort environment, luxury preferred 

  5. Excellent spoken and written English knowledge, bi-lingual helpful

  6. Demonstrates dynamic management skills; good judgment and common sense

  7. Ability to handle guest complaints while maximizing the financial performance of the resort by providing the highest level of service

  8. Ability to focus attention to details

  9. Ability to motivate the staff and maintain a cohesive team

  10. Ability to prioritize, organize and follow through
