The Position: The candidate will lead the AM Pierce task team supporting the PMA-268 Unmanned Carrier Aviation Program Office.  This person will work under the Air System IPT / Development IPT supporting Advance Development and Small Business Innovative Research efforts.  Additionally, this person will coordinate and participate in UAS working groups, meetings, and conferences and work with stakeholders to create and maintain a consistent development plan.  Further, this person will coordinate with Government representatives, prime contractor counterparts, and Fleet Integration Team personnel.  Finally, support Concept of Operations development as needed.
 
Description:  
  • Apply engineering experience to perform system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, and acquisition and resource management for the AM Pierce task team within PMA-268
  • Supervise program and project operations
  • Provide timely staffing of contractor personnel to support task requirements
  • Prepare, maintain, and coordinate all S&T efforts internal and external to the program office
  • Apply aviation skill sets to unmanned capabilities and procedures to the maritime environment
  • Provide input and support for the development and preparations of graphics, executive level presentations, briefs, and other types of materials and documentation related to program processes and procedures
  • Support the Project Manager and logistics, engineering, and technical support systems throughout all phases of UAS program
  • Review/prepare engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documents
  • Coordinate and track the distribution of technical and administrative documents with external stakeholders
  • Provide research and analysis for new and/or revised technical documentation and information concerning improvements or new capabilities
  • Coordinate and participate in working groups, meetings, and conferences to update the IMS, coordinate roadmaps, address risks and opportunities, and plan test and evaluation strategies
  • Analyze cost, schedule, and technical performance and identifies risks, opportunities, and schedule issues  
 
Location of position – Pax River, Maryland.
 
 The successful candidate will have the education and experience below:
  • MS or MA degree in an engineering or science discipline. 
  • At least ten (10) years of experience in engineering design, analysis, integration, or implementation of military technologies. 
                 OR
  • BS or BA degree in an engineering or science discipline.
  • At least fifteen (15) years of experience in engineering design, analysis, integration, or implementation of military technologies. 
 An Active DoD SECRET clearance is required. 

The Working Environment:  The physical environment requires the employee to work on-site at the government program office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.  The employee may be required to walk short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.  In some occasions, the employee may be required to drive to offices or buildings near the work site.  In rare occasions, travel may be required.
