Shop Mechanic (Rochester, NY)
SHOP MECHANIC

Location: Maple Street Shop, Rochester, NY
Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-4:30 PM
Compensation: $35–$38/hour, depending on experience
Reports To: Service Manager
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Livingston Development Ventures is seeking an experienced and dependable Shop Mechanic to maintain and repair a diverse fleet of light-duty vehicles, medium- and heavy-duty trucks, and specialized construction equipment.
The ideal candidate will have experience with mechanical, basic electrical, hydraulic, and air systems across a variety of vehicles and equipment. Daily responsibilities will range from preventative maintenance and routine service to diagnosing and completing more complex repairs.

The ideal candidate will have experience with mechanical, basic electrical, hydraulic, and air systems across a variety of vehicles and equipment. Daily responsibilities will range from preventative maintenance and routine service to diagnosing and completing more complex repairs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and general repairs.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and air-system issues.
- Service and repair light-duty vehicles, medium- and heavy-duty trucks, and construction equipment.
- Complete work orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
- Communicate professionally with coworkers, drivers, operators, vendors, and management.
- Identify repair and parts needs and communicate them to Fleet leadership.
- Maintain a strong work ethic and attention to quality and safety.
- Assist with other Fleet and shop needs as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience as an automotive, diesel, heavy-duty, or equipment mechanic preferred.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Experience with hydraulic and air systems preferred.
- Basic electrical diagnostic experience.
- Welding experience is a plus, but not required.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
- Strong communication, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and remain active throughout the workday.
