Pipe Laborer (Victor, NY)

POSITION TITLE: Pipe Laborer 

SALARY: $25-35/hour 
LOCATION: Victor, NY

SUMMARY: Performs assigned general labor responsibilities by performing the following duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Maintains supplies by receiving and stocking materials in designated areas.*
• Lifts and carries materials and equipment throughout work areas using appropriate equipment.*
• Maintains neat and orderly work areas at all times.*
• Adheres to all company policies and procedures paying special attention to health and/or safety procedures.*
• Reports any problems/concerns or discrepancies to the management.*
• Reports all occupational injuries or illnesses to the supervisor immediately.*
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment at all times.*
• Responsible for setting up manholes, keeping grades and trench safety.*
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

LANGUAGE ABILITY: 
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

MATH ABILITY:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES: 
Valid driver’s license

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND OTHER ABILITIES: 

• Must have at least 5 years experience with water, sanitary, and storm pipe
• Must have RPZ experience
• Must have pump station experience
