Job Summary
Mitchell Design Build is seeking a career-minded, detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join our growing team. This full-time position is primarily office-based with occasional local travel to active job sites for project oversight and coordination.

The Assistant Project Manager will support the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects to ensure they are completed on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate has 1–5 years of construction industry experience and is eager to grow within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and internal teams to define project scope and specifications
  • Assist in negotiating contracts with subcontractors and vendors to achieve cost-effective agreements
  • Obtain required permits, licenses, and approvals from relevant authorities
  • Create, review, and manage shop drawings and submittals
  • Identify and coordinate required manpower, equipment, and materials throughout the project lifecycle
  • Assist in developing project schedules and sequencing construction activities to meet deadlines
  • Procure materials and equipment and monitor deliveries to avoid delays or shortages
  • Support on-site supervision of subcontractors, laborers, and trades to ensure work meets project standards
  • Track project progress and prepare accurate, detailed reports
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and regulatory requirements and promptly report issues
  • Provide general construction oversight and coordination as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements
  • 1–5 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and project management principles
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coordinate and direct others
  • Professional and confident communication skills when interacting with clients, subcontractors, and team members
  • Ownership mindset with accountability for assigned projects and tasks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with project management and scheduling software preferred
  • Experience with estimating and estimating software is a plus, but not required
