CONSTRUCTION CONTROLLER

The Iversen Companies (Iversen Construction, Chrisanntha Construction and Niels Iversen Lumber Co.) are seeking an experienced Controller to join our leadership team in Gorham (Ontario County), NY. This individual will manage all financial aspects of our dynamic construction and real estate development organization. We value cooperation, teamwork and integrity.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the planning, implementation, management and execution of all financial and accounting records, reports and general ledger accounts.
Lead and manage accounting and finance activities for multiple companies including A/P, P/R & HR, construction work-in-progress (WIP), percentage of completion reporting and tax compliance.
Maintain the accuracy, security and timely processing of financial transactions, cash flow and accounting data.
Prepare journal entries and reconciliations as part of monthly close procedures.
Perform monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
Identify and implement accounting and financial system improvements.
Respond to information requests, review financial statements, and assist with internal/external audits.
Provide leadership, cross-training and mentorship to finance and accounting staff.
Support company ownership as needed.

Requirements:

Minimum 15 years’ experience in accounting, finance, HR and administration.
Construction industry experience and familiarity with job costing is preferred.
College degree in Accounting/ Business Management; professional certification a plus.
Successful implementation of finance and accounting system upgrades.
Strong communication skills leading and coaching a small office team.
Highly motivated with strong organizational skills.
