This role is responsible for supporting Livingston Associates and our clients with day-to-day financial tasks specific to the construction industry, including job costing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll support. Key Responsibilities:
- Process and code vendor invoices in accordance with job cost codes and company procedures
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Track and reconcile purchase orders, subcontractor invoices, and change orders
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date job cost records
- Assist with payroll processing, including tracking hours and verifying certified payroll compliance
- Prepare bank deposits and reconcile bank statements
- File and maintain accounting records and documentation
- Perform general administrative and accounting tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage 300, Foundation, or Viewpoint)
- Understanding of construction billing practices such as AIA forms and retention
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with prevailing wage, certified payroll, and job costing is a plus
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with general contractors, subcontractors, or construction managers
- Knowledge of lien laws, waivers, and compliance documentation
- Strong communication skills for interaction with vendors, subcontractors, and project teams
