Truck/Heavy Equipment Parts Specialist (Palmyra, NY)

• Answer phone calls and relay information to Service personnel as required
• Conduct research/parts identification to properly identify correct parts for Service personnel
• Communicate effectively with Customers, Service Advisors, Technicians, the Service Manager, and outside vendors to ensure accurate and timely parts identification, procurement and returns with the shared goal of exceeding the customer’s expectations
• Maintain good working relationships with outside vendors and establish/cultivate positive relationships with new vendors as needed
• Receive, verify and stock various parts and supplies, manage base stock levels, and manage cores and parts returns. This may include unloading shipments using a forklift or pallet jack
• Perform data entry of parts information, vendor invoices, pricing, etc. into the Shop Management System
• Periodically conduct parts inventories/cycle counts to ensure accountability and identify discrepancies, as well as to manage consumables and bulk products
• As needed, travel to vendors to pick up or return parts/cores
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and assist with maintaining/cleaning shop equipment as needed
• Perform other shop tasks as directed by the Service Manager

• Typical work hours of Monday-Friday, 7:00 am – 4:00 pm (40 hours), with some flexibility

• Valid driver’s license required, forklift license preferred (or the ability to obtain one post-employment)
• Prior experience as a Parts Specialist in the automotive, heavy truck, agriculture or construction repair industries preferred (but not required, will train the right person) – initial pay rate will be based on experience
• Good telephone skills and personable behavior, basic computer skills required with experience using MS Excel spreadsheets and some type of computer-based Shop Management System/Parts Management System preferred
