Machinist (Lawrenceville, GA)

• Works on assignments that are typically routine in nature
• Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instruction on new assignments
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

• Set up and operates NC/CNC machines working from detailed blueprints, to perform a variety of machining operations, such as mill, drill, ream, punch, bore, turn, face, etc
• Develop programs occasionally or edit programs as required
• Devise new tools and fixtures for unusual operations by making machine adjustments and grinding or sharpening existing tools
• Check dimensions on finished parts using a variety of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, gauges, calipers
• Perform all other work-related duties as assigned

• Ability to operate CNC machines working from detailed blueprints
• Ability to pay attention to small details
• Ability to read blueprints
• Knowledge of tools and clamping
• Good communication skills

• Sitting occurs up to 5% of the time
• Lifting/carrying occurs approximately 80% of the time
• Standing/walking on concrete floors occur approximately 100% of the time while performing various job duties
• Reaching occurs at all levels with full or less than full extension of the arms
• Handling/grasping occurs approximately 75% of the time. Fine manipulation when utilizing small tools or keyboarding
• Pushing/pulling and lifting occurs approximately 70% of the time. Weight ranges up to 70 pounds and usually occurs at or below waist level. Duration will vary with task being performed
• Required use of safety glasses and shoes and may include hearing protectors, gloves, face shield, etc.

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 5-7 years related experience operating CNC
